Brazing Furnaces

Brazing furnaces is the name given to the ovens where brazing operations are carried out. These furnaces can be designed as vacuum or controlled atmosphere furnaces.

Brazing is a process that generally covers materials with a liquid temperature above 450°C, and is referred to as brazing in Turkish. In this process, at least 2 pieces are joined together by placing an alloy with a lower melting point than their melting point and keeping them at brazing temperature for a while.

Many metals and their alloys such as gold, silver, copper, nickel, aluminum etc. can be used in the brazing process. The important point here is that the materials combined with the brazing material are compatible. During the brazing process, metallurgical bonding may sometimes occur after the process, and this may increase the strength of the bonding. Basically, in the brazing process, there are parts to be joined and a metal or metal alloy used in the joining that melts at a certain temperature. This alloy is selected according to the metals to be joined. In the brazing process, the brazing material can be in forms such as foil, wire, paste. Metal in powder form generally contains binding components that are removed from the environment by heat. Brazing material in the form of foil or wire can be shaped with scissors or a mold and applied to the area to be joined.

Cleaning the brazing oven and parts is very important for the success of the process. Cleaning the parts to be assembled is as important as the cleaning of the oven. Not touching the parts with your hand, so that the melted brazing material can move between the two metals by capillary effect, increases the success of brazing.

Special part fixtures can be made for use in brazing furnaces. With these heat treatment fixtures, the brazing process is ensured to be carried out successfully.

Heating regime is important in brazing furnaces. Oven stages, temperatures in the oven and parts, and holding times at these temperatures must be taken into consideration for the health of the process. For this purpose, oven programs and oven PID must be adjustable.

The joining process, called brazing, can be carried out in vacuum or partial pressure atmospheres in vacuum furnaces, as well as in induction or band type furnaces. Joining processes made with brazing furnaces are very durable and durable. Various metal or ceramic materials can be joined together in brazing furnaces.
